1People1Earth is Proud to Announce That It Will Be Selling On the ETSY Marketplace
Minneapolis Minnesota (PRWEB) February 26, 2014 -- 1People1Earth is pleased to announce it will be selling on the ETSY marketplace. ETSY is a Certified B Corporation. What exactly does that mean? B Corporations are a new kind of company that uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. It is like a LEED or Fair Trade certification, but for business. There are over 521 Certified B Corporations from sixty industries, such as solar energy and law. ETSY will be among the biggest, keeping good company with PATAGONIA and SEVENTH GENERATION.
The founders of 1People1Earth are proud to be a part of the Etsy community. When you buy on Etsy, you're directly supporting independent business.
A trio of sisters from Minnesota has taken their passion for doing good, their desire to make a difference in the world and their love of fashion to launch a for-profit company that donates profit. The company is called 1People1Earth.
The founders of 1P1E are Meaghan 19, Katie 17 and Libby 15. The sisters launched their website 1People1Earth six months ago.
Their story is simple. After much research and late night talks (usually involving loud music and chips with guacamole) 1People1Earth was born.
A key motivator was reading the book "Start Something That Matters" by Blake Mycoskie, the founder and CEO of Tom's Shoes. His solution was to create a for-profit business that was sustainable and not reliant on donations.
The sisters read the book cover to cover and it became their bible and Blake their mentor. Energized, they got to work. Their love of fashion and vision for positive action led them naturally to creating t-shirts with inspirational messages. They then added a few accessories, cellphones, lanyards and trendy wristbands.
The website 1People1Earth is live and tells their story, their vision and purpose.
"The purpose is simple, cause positive action and offer people value for doing this", the sisters explain on the website.
The girls designed t-shirts incorporating their positive message and global optimism. The girls refer to their message as "Wonders of the World". Their first "Wonder" they're promoting is PEACE.
The girls have carefully selected 4 organizations to fund, which share their vision for positive action in promoting world peace and helping individuals, communities and nations enjoy a safer world. The girls will donate 10% among these charities.
