In the four years we’ve conducted the Global Leadership Research Project, coaching and mentoring remains the most utilized leadership development practice for both small and large companies.

Dayton, Ohio (PRWEB) February 26, 2014

Chally Group Worldwide™, a recognized leader in the measurement and development of human performance potential in business, concluded the Fourth Annual Global Leadership Research initiative with business executives from around the world. Over the course of this continuing study, Chally has surveyed nearly 3000 C-level and senior human resources executives from global organizations. The survey data was collected for publication of Chief Executive magazine’s 2014 Best Companies for Leaders, with analysis assistance from Human Capital Institute.

The research study requests CEOs and HR leaders to share their insights on evolving leadership development trends, and identify key challenges faced by companies committed to investing in their own talent for strong business performance. A team of experts in applied research design incorporated feedback from past winners to ensure that emerging trends were addressed with the research methodology.

“In the four years we’ve conducted the Global Leadership Research Project, coaching and mentoring remains the most utilized leadership development practice for both small and large companies,” explained Howard Stevens, Chairman of Chally. “We also found the CEO and HR business partner relationship is key to leadership development success.”

Companies were scored on five key criteria:

  •     Quality of formal leadership development process
  •     Personal involvement invested by the executive team, particularly the CEO
  •     Strength of leadership pipeline for internal recruitment
  •     Reputation amongst peers for excellence in developing sought-after talent
  •     Long-term growth of market capitalization and shareholder value

The Global Leadership Research project is expanded and refined each year to collect additional data on issues that previous surveys have identified as important. As such, the research process is ongoing.

The full research report with Key Findings will be released in March. Check the Global Leadership page to download a copy.

More information about the companies who made it to the top 40 public rankings and top 10 private rankings can be found in the January/February edition of Chief Executive magazine.
