After ski season winds down and before summer kicks off, this is a great time of year to welcome visitors to our area and give them the opportunity to explore the basecamp of the White Mountains, all while participating in this fun, entertaining event!

"Til Death Do Us Part" - Strange occurrences have been taking place in Lincoln-Woodstock: unexplained flashes of light, weird objects in the sky, and residents disappearing. The wedding of two local townspeople amidst all this mayhem might just be the icing on the wedding cake. Will everyone survive the ceremony, and, wait, who invited the little green men?
This is the plot for the Lincoln-Woodstock Chamber of Commerce Town-Wide Murder Mystery Weekend, being held April 12-13, 2014. "This year marks the fifth anniversary of this annual event, where detectives of all ages try to crack the case and help put the murderer behind bars," said Alyssa Yolda, Executive Director of the Lincoln Woodstock Chamber of Commerce. "After ski season winds down and before the summer kicks off, this is a great time of year to welcome visitors to our area and give them the opportunity to explore the basecamp of the White Mountains, all while participating in this fun, entertaining event!"
On Saturday morning, friends and families gather at Jean’s Playhouse to register as a team and receive a clue book with valuable information about the suspects. The teams race around town visiting the businesses that are hosting either a clue, or a suspect, hoping to discover who the murderer is. On Saturday evening, players have the option to attend a buffet dinner at Indian Head Resort where they have one more opportunity to question suspects, and to hear the coroner’s report (an important piece of information to figure out whodunit). The weekend wraps up on Sunday morning where the players meet back at Jean's Playhouse to discover who the murderer is and watch that person get arrested in front of their eyes.
The inspiration for this annual event comes from the Langley, Washington Chamber of Commerce which is celebrating its 30th Town- Wide Murder Mystery Weekend this year. In the past, The Lincoln Woodstock Chamber had hired Langley’s murder mystery writer to pen their yearly stories, but this year, the Lincoln-Woodstock chamber staff will "take a stab" at writing the murder mystery script themselves.
This event is free for families to participate in and those wishing to can purchase an arrest warrant for $10 for a chance to win some great prizes. Registration is now open and lodging packages are available through The Kancamagus Lodge and Indian Head Resort. To make reservations for Saturday night's dinner, call Indian Head Resort at 603-745-8000. Don’t miss your chance to be a weekend detective.
