Wellington, FL (PRWEB) March 04, 2014 -- It’s Sunday afternoon and your weekend chores are done. We're not ready to think about the upcoming work week yet, so what do we do? Why not round up some friends and head on over to Hop Won Polo West for the weekly Tea Dance?
This new restaurant, bar and nightclub in Wellington hosts a Tea Dance every Sunday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Enjoy drink specials including innovative cocktails, beer or wine along with some terrific food. Hop Won serves its signature Asian Fusion cuisine that looks as good as it tastes, as well as traditional Chinese fare, Japanese-style sushi and a great bar menu selection. One Facebook fan called it the “best food in Wellington.”
The Tea Dance at Hop Won is open to everyone. It’s a fun, casual occasion—no need to dress up. The event is designed to be a relaxing time for dancing and connecting with friends, or for making new friends. The club’s DJ will play your favorite tunes and keep the party going strong. At Hop Won, they like to mix it up and keep things fresh and fun.
So, why is it called a “Tea Dance?” The term originated in England and America in the late 1800s, when traditional afternoon tea gatherings were combined with orchestra music, allowing single men and women to dance and mingle in a socially-acceptable venue. Refreshments included tea and coffee, and an assortment of small cakes, cookies, “finger” sandwiches, and fruit. You might say it was the singles scene of that era.
Flash forward to a new millennium and imagine intimate lighting; the pounding rhythm of pop, rock, World Beat, hip hop or even disco music; add a beverage that includes anything but tea—and that is today’s Tea Dance at Hop Won.
Located at 2470 Greenview Cove Dr., Hop Won is adjacent to the equestrian arena at the Polo West sports complex. This 9,000-square-foot restaurant with a modern Asian-influenced décor boasts two bars—the 260-seat Fusion lounge inside, and the outdoor Polo Cabana with a covered patio.
Hop Won Polo West is the second restaurant venture for co-owners Gigi Stetler and Jimmy Rivas, who previously owned and operated a restaurant in Davie, Florida; a restaurant that earned a reputation for offering quality cuisine amid an atmosphere of comfort and outstanding service.
“I am very excited to bring Hop Won Polo West to the Wellington community,” says Stetler. “I think it will fill a unique niche and offer a wonderful new entertainment and dining option for everyone in town.”
Entrepreneur Gigi Stetler is the founder and CEO of RV Sales of Broward, as well as a published author of an autobiographical book, “Unstoppable” and an equestrian enthusiast. Her partner in the Hop Won restaurant enterprise, Jimmy Rivas, is a well-known, local restaurateur who brings his extensive experience to the successful operation of their business.
“Come join our Sunday Tea Dance party,” says Rivas. "We make a mean mojito!" Rivas and Stetler invite everyone from the community to come and experience the delightful food and relaxed atmosphere at their newest restaurant and bar, whose tag line is Food-Fusion-Fun.
