Astoria, New York (PRWEB) February 26, 2014
Dr. Mohini Rawat, DPT, MS, CMP, RMSK, ECS, Clinical Director of Hands-On EMG Testing, recently accomplished a major milestone in her already heralded career as she qualified as a clinical specialist in electrophysiology testing. Dr. Rawat entered history with this criterion as she is only one of four ECS professionals in the entire state of New York. Moreover, she is the only practitioner with both ECS and RMSK (Registered in Musculoskeletal) credentials together.
Dr. Rawat has a Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree from MGH institute of health professions in Boston and an Advanced Masters in Biokinesiology from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She is a member of APTA (American Physical Therapy Association), the NYPTA (New York Physical Therapy Association), AIUM (American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and ACE (American Congress of Electroneuromyography).
In honor of this historic occasion, Dr. Dimitrios Kostopoulos, DPT, MD, PhD, DSc, ECS and Co-Founder Of Hands-On EMG Testing stated the following: "It is a great honor for Hands-On EMG Testing to have appointed as its Clinical Director an individual who not only holds the margin of excellence in her profession but who also really cares for the well-being of her patients treating them with compassion and understanding. In my twenty-five year clinical experience I have met only a handful of healthcare professionals with the ethos and passion that Dr Rawat has for the profession."
Dr. Rawat has been a Physical Therapist for over eight years. She decided on being a PT because she wanted to be in a profession where she would have a greater impact on the welfare of the society and change people's life in a positive way. “I love my profession and I love what I do and that is what keeps me motivated to achieve higher goals,” stated Dr. Rawat.
Regarding her historic accomplishment Dr. Rawat had this to say: “It's a great feeling however it did not occur to me when I decided to pursue certification in electrophysiology and musculoskeletal ultrasound. To me amalgamation of both, electrophysiology and musculoskeletal ultrasound in clinical practice is an excellent source of information of patient's problem. One checks the functional aspect of the disorder and other looks at the structural level. I am optimistic that there will be many Physical Therapy practitioners who will achieve this in future.”
She feels that being fully credentialed in these areas enables her to improve her level of practice, since this combination of skills provide a great deal of information about the patients’ problem and also help guide accurate treatment plan which will improve quality of care.
“To be able to get up every day to go to work and love what you do, you also need a great team and a healthy working environment and I am happy that I am part of Hands On team. I am thankful to my mentor, Dr Kostopoulos who never fails to inspire me to be a great clinician and a greater human being,” emphasized Dr. Rawat.
