We’re doing what we set out to do. And, that is to have a center totally dedicated to women, providing whatever they need so they don’t have to go to out of town. I wish Joanie was alive to see it.
Youngstown, Ohio (PRWEB) February 25, 2014
Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center, St. Elizabeth Health Center, is one of America’s Best Breast Centers, according to Women’s Choice, which identifies services women most recommend and trust.
“Breast care is extremely vital to women’s health and we want them to know that Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center has met the highest standards in caring for the needs of their female patients. The Women’s Choice Award is the only program that identifies the nation’s best in healthcare based on patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and what women really want when it comes to treatment and a quality medical experience,” says Delia Passi, CEO and founder of WomenCertified, home of the Women’s Choice Award.
Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center earned the award by having met the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) standards from the American College of Surgeons.
The NAPBC is a consortium of professional organizations focused on breast health and dedicated to the improvement of quality care and outcomes of patients with diseases of the breast through evidence-based standards and patient and professional education.
As one of America’s Best Breast Centers, Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center also carries the Seal of the American College of Radiology as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, and ranked in the 99th percentile for patient satisfaction.
“At St. Elizabeth Health Center, we are deeply honored and very proud that the nation's premier women's marketing, evaluation and referral service has selected the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center to be the Valley’s first recipient of the Women's Choice Award,” said Don Koenig, executive vice president of operations, Humility of Mary Health Partners. “Women know what they want and need, and that was our guiding design principle in building this unique center. So, it is gratifying for us to have women recognize the incomparable value we deliver to every client and patient.”
“I think it is fantastic,” says Dr. Rashid Abdu. “It takes years for most centers to be accredited – we were accredited in only one year. Now we’re receiving all of these awards – it shows that we’re doing what we set out to do. And, that is to have a center totally dedicated to women, providing whatever they need so they don’t have to go to out of town. I wish Joanie was alive to see it.”
Dr. Abdu was the driving force behind development of the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center, inspired by his wife, Joanie, who died of breast cancer in 1994. His goal was to provide the best care available to every woman regardless of her ability to pay, and to expedite the diagnostic process and minimize the anxiety associated with waiting for results.
