Wine Festivals Take Over South Walton to Kick Off the Spring Season and Alys Beach Presents Outdoor Movie Series

30A Wine Festival Features Premier Wine and Culinary Treats

Alys Beach will host the annual 30A Wine Festival on March 7th-9th. This yearly event showcases premier wine producers and culinary favorites in the area. “Bourbon, Beer, and Butts” will kick off the festival weekend on Friday at Fonville Press. Along with fine bourbon, authentic craft beer and barbecue, Grammy winner Sam Bush will be performing. Barbecue will be provided by Barefoot BBQ while local breweries Grayton Beer, Oyster City Brewing, and SweetWater Brewing companies will be pouring their craft brews. Saturday events will include wine tasting seminars, a walkabout, and a band party. “Pork and Pinot” is Sunday’s exclusive event with a croquet tournament. Proceeds from the event will benefit Children’s Volunteer Health Network.

The charming community of Seaside, Florida is widely known for its character and relaxing atmosphere. On Tuesdays and Thursdays in March, free sand sculpting classes are available. Mark Flynn offers his services in teaching fun techniques each week from 1pm-2pm.

Movies under the stars will begin in Alys Beach on Tuesday evenings through March and April. At 7:30pm each week in the amphitheater, favorite family movies such as Up, Toy Story 3, and The Little Mermaid will be shown. Guests are welcome to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the films. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Reservations can be made at nearby vacation homes and cottages for those interested in staying overnight in the area.

The 28th Annual Sandestin Wine Festival will take place April 10th-13th. Visitors will come from near and far to enjoy wine tastings, live entertainment, and culinary delights in the Village of Baytowne Wharf. The South Walton Beaches Wine & Food Festival is April 24th-27th. The popular annual event will take place this year in Grand Boulevard. Over 800 wines will be available as well as an array of some of the world’s finest foods. Live music will be performed from national artists and top songwriters from Nashville, Tennessee. The festival benefits Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation.
