ConteXtream to Speak and Demonstrate SDN Solutions at Open Networking Summit 2014
Santa Clara, Calif. (PRWEB) February 27, 2014 -- ConteXtream, the leading Carrier-SDN solution provider, today announced that Sharon Barkai, co-founder of ConteXtream, will speak at the Open Networking Summit. As a part of the technology track, Barkai’s portion of the session, entitled “Application Driven Software-Defined Networking (SDN),” will share the experiences of SDN deployments from multiple Tier-1 operators in the context of two use cases: Gi-LAN mobility services and virtualization of IP Multimedia services. ConteXtream will also be demonstrating SDN solutions at the event at booth #106 in the exhibit hall. The carrier-SDN interactive demonstration will include service chaining; traffic steering and will also provide examples of other subscriber-aware service possibilities.
With service providers finding themselves in the most challenging and competitive environment yet, and network traffic continuing to increase, operators must look to a solution that alleviates their current pain points and prepares them for what’s to come. The solution is a carrier SDN network virtualization overlay architecture that gives service providers a way to create a programmable network overlay around existing and untouched carrier distribution spines and national backbones. In this session, Barkai will describe how carrier SDN is able to deliver this, and offer improved functions such as video optimization, content filtering, TCP optimization, tagging, and IMS-SBC cores, as well as share the immediate ROI of SDN architecture deployment based on optimization and load balancing.
The panel session will also discuss how the Open Network Foundation (ONF) North-Bound Interface (NBI) Working Group (WG) and the Unified Communication Interoperability Forum (UCI Forum) are standardizing a new world where applications and networks create a two-way communication awareness between themselves in a seamless manner.
WHO: Panelists include Sharon Barkai, co-founder of ConteXtream, as well as executives from Aruba Networks, Cyan, HP Networking, Nectar Service Corp. and Verizon. The panel will be moderated by Pascal Menezes, principal program manager at Microsoft Skype/Lync and chair of UCI Forum UC SDN TG and vice-chair of ONF NBI WG.
