Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 27, 2014
ÄKTA, a leading digital experience and engagement consultancy, announced today the acquisition of Fueled Chicago, a mobile application development firm. With the acquisition, ÄKTA offers its clients strategy, design, engineering and infrastructure services in areas such as enterprise mobility, wearables, data visualization, the connected home and the "Internet of Things." In conjunction with the Fueled Chicago acquisition, ÄKTA also introduced a new R&D lab that will be focused on emerging technologies and technology environments.
With the acquisition, ÄKTA is uniquely positioned in the fast-growing mobile engagement provider space, a service category that is expected to grow to more than $30 billion in sales within five years. As a mobile engagement provider, ÄKTA offers end-to-end business strategy, design, development, infrastructure and analytics services to help companies connect with their customers at all stages of the customer lifecycle.
"ÄKTA has always been strong at helping clients develop business strategies and then designing innovative digital and mobile experiences to execute those strategies," said John Roa, ÄKTA's CEO. "The Fueled Chicago acquisition moves ÄKTA from being an innovation think tank to being what we call an innovation 'do tank,' a company that actually makes what it envisions. This makes us an appealing alternative to the inefficient and costly patchwork of design agencies, mobile application developers, consulting firms and systems integrators that companies traditionally deal with."
Combined, the two companies serve a wide variety of leading brands, including companies such as Starbucks, Bloomberg, Aon, Verizon, Exelon, eBay, Hallmark Channel, Ducati, sittercity, GoHealth and TSYS, among many others.
Fueled Chicago founders Tony Christos and Matt Tesch have joined ÄKTA as vice presidents, and they will serve on the executive committee with CEO John Roa, Executive Chairman Dean DeBiase and vice presidents Kevin Lerash and Drew Davidson.
"Fueled Chicago has an incredible track record developing mobile applications for some of the world's best-known companies, but we always felt we could do more for our clients if we could apply our expertise and insights at the strategy level," said Christos. "With ÄKTA, our deep software and infrastructure expertise will ensure that companies are truly engaging with their customers, instead of simply following what others in the industry are doing."
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. ÄKTA is actively recruiting and expects to be at more than 60 employees by the second quarter of 2014.
