Goodyear Educator Named as Taylor Morrison’s February ‘Teacher of the Month’
Goodyear, Arizona (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- Each month during the 2013-2014 school year, Taylor Morrison and KEZ 99.9 FM will honor one outstanding Valley educator as part of the radio station’s “Excellence in Education” recognition program. Jeremy Rubel of Copper Trails Elementary has been chosen as February’s winner.
For his exceptional teaching and mentorship skills, Rubel will receive an “Excellence in Education” plaque from Taylor Morrison and KEZ 99.9, $99 and a prize.
Parents of the students in Rubel’s class enjoy hearing about their child’s day and seeing their levels of confidence rise in various subjects. Becky Neal, mother of one of Rubel’s previous students, says Rubel instilled a love of reading and writing in her daughter, “her love of reading and writing is apparent everyday...it is beautiful to see how confident she is now.”
Neal’s daughter Hailey, a third grader that had Rubel for a first and second grade teacher, nominated Rubel.
“My daughter who is now in third grade, heard the advertisement for this award and has not stopped asking to nominate him and I agree completely,” said Neal. “Words alone are difficult to describe what this man has done for my daughter.”
He has taught both in Arizona and abroad, spreading his love of teaching to every group of students that enters his classroom.
“On top of sharing what he does best with the kids, he is also a mentor to other teachers,” said Neal. “I can only hope they learn to be as enthusiastic, patient and caring as Mr. Rubel.
Rubel even helped his students make time capsules at the end of the year to open at their high school graduations.
“Having great teachers in the early years of a child’s education is important,” said Bob Thompson, vice president of sales and marketing for Taylor Morrison’s Phoenix division. “Taylor Morrison is honored to present Jeremy Rubel with the ‘Excellence in Education” award for his continued efforts to inspire his students and give them confidence as they move forward with their education.”
Previous winners have included Monique Pena of Charlotte Patterson Elementary School, Julie Pascal of Diamond Canyon School, Chris Whitehead of Freemont Junior High School, Cindy Cordts of Oakwood Elementary and Michelle Capriotti of Charlotte Patterson Elementary.
KEZ’s Marty Manning will surprise each monthly winner with a visit and present them with an Excellence in Education award. The visit will be broadcasted during the Beth and Friends Show, with airs weekdays from 5-10 a.m.
At the culmination of each school year the “Teacher of the Month” winners are invited to attend a banquet at The Capital Grille in Phoenix where $999 will be awarded to one special educator.
