OceanWorks International Completes PDI upgrade for CSnet
(PRWEB) February 27, 2014 -- OceanWorks International is pleased to announce the completion of the Poseidon Diode Interface (PDI) project for CSnet. The completed PDI design will protect the Offshore Communication Backbone (OCB) from any electrical fault in the Poseidon cable.
The OCB is a seafloor network developed for the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Cyprus. It contains, as part of its capability, the Tsunami Warning and Early Response system for Cyprus (TWERC). The Poseidon cable will provide direct connection to the OCB and provide power to the Poseidon system. A number of advantages, including higher bandwidth, lower latency communications, increased power, improved availability and reduced operations costs is realized from the direct connection of the OCB to shore.
OceanWorks International with our extensive experience in the design and building of seafloor networks since 2005 is uniquely familiar with the CSnet OCB. Complex, reliable and adaptable systems are just one component of the OceanWorks International suite of subsea engineering and design capabilities serving the Scientific, Environmental, Oil, Gas and Military communities.
OceanWorks is an internationally recognized subsea technology company specializing in the design and manufacture of manned / unmanned subsea systems and specialized equipment for military, oil and gas, scientific, and other marine markets.
