The Future of Harley Street

The future of Harley Street is vital to the future of private healthcare in London. It is the brand everyone associates with private healthcare both in the UK and around the world.

London, UK (PRWEB UK) 20 February 2014

London’s Harley Street is home to the largest concentration of healthcare facilities and medical and surgical expertise anywhere in the world and is a nationally and internationally recognised brand. With international competition and the rise of medical tourism, how does Harley Street maintain and indeed strengthen this pre-eminent position?

A high-level seminar will explore this and other questions next month by bringing together leading clinicians, hospitals, clinics, healthcare providers and an invited audience to preview and debate the way forward for Harley Street.

The seminar, which takes place at The Royal Society of Medicine on the evening of Thursday 27th March, is limited to 150 invited guests, with applications for one of the coveted invites now being accepted on http://future.harleystreet.com. The event is free to attend and will run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

The event will be chaired by Sue Saville, Health Correspondent for ITV News, who will introduce speakers and panellists from organisations including Intuition Communication, The Howard de Walden Estate, London Healthcare, Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), Healthcare UK, Federation of Independent Practitioners Organisation, The London Consultants Association and King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes.

They will debate issues such as how London’s private healthcare community continues to lead the way in an increasingly competitive marketplace and how Harley Street can compete with the more than 80 countries now offering medical tourism opportunities. Audience members and guests will be provided with market updates prior to the event to enable them to understand some of the latest figures and trends and take part in an informed debate.

The event is organised by Intuition Communication, the specialist publisher of consumer and business-to-business information on private healthcare and medical travel, including the http://www.HarleyStreet.com website Sponsors include The Howard de Walden Estate, King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes, London General Practice, the London Women’s Clinic, Ten Harley Street and 108 Medical Chambers.

Keith Pollard, Managing Director of Intuition Communications says the topic couldn’t be more important to London’s private healthcare sector:

“The future of Harley Street is vital to the future of private healthcare in London. It is the brand everyone associates with private healthcare both in the UK and around the world. That brand needs to continue to grow and strengthen in both the domestic and international marketplace to compete with emerging competitors. This means continuing to offer the latest treatments, the best surgeons and the best levels of patient care as well as marketing and promotion of Harley Street around the world."

“It will be fascinating to hear from some of the many stakeholders in the Harley Street brand, from landlords to consultants, to understand how the many disparate groups involved will tackle these challenges.”
