Any start-up with a business plan based on innovation, ethical trading, green technology or non-conventional business practices is a valid applicant for the “Ethical Initiative” project by Green Seed Capital Limited. Interested applicants may fill out an application on the project’s website http://www.ethicalinitiative.com. Their paramount research professionals will review all the applications and select the most interesting and promising start-ups for further review. It will consist of a series of interviews, review sessions and concept analysis of these prospective start-ups. Applicants that fit the Green Seed Capital vision will be selected and included in the company’s quarterly financial newsletter that is sent out to their private and institutional clients, to try and find interested parties to invest in a the prospective ventures.

Robert Mei, CEO of Green Seed Capital, says: “Over the last five years we see that global trends are changing. There are more and more companies that want to do things differently – that want to bring certain value while maintaining certain ethical principles. The problem five years ago was commercial viability, we couldn't simply find a commercially viable green or ethical project to offer to our clients. The situation is completely different now, the technology has caught up with ambition and we see a number of promising companies that are trying to raise capital to start operations. We see more and more investors that want to invest in non-conventional business models like alternative energy, ethical medical practices and other unique opportunities. We feel that we are able to help companies that can bring this to the table by linking them with people who are interested to invest; so we created the “Ethical Initiative” project.

“We still see the same global problems in the world – plastic pollution, oil scarcity, untreated medical conditions. We feel that there are many promising products and services showing up now that can minimize these problems, and we want maximum coverage to find these products. We want to be behind these trends that we see emerging now. Solar energy and recycling were five years ago, we want to support the next big thing on the market of alternative investments.” states Robert Mei of Green Seed Capital.

The Ethical Initiative project was launched in beta mode early November. Besides the World Wide Web; Green Seed Capital is also sourcing trade shows and conferences worldwide. Green Seed Capital already selected first few start-ups to be included in its first 2014 market newsletter, to be published in March 2014. Robert Mei says that they already see interest from their clients in these companies and currently negotiations and due-diligence is in progress from one institutional investor to invest 1.4 million EUR in one of the selected start-ups.

“That is a very promising start and we hope to see more progress and success for our project in 2014” says Robert Mei of Green Seed Capital.
