According to a report from the IT Alliance Group in Ireland, the emergence of cloud computing in the IT sector has increased demand for many roles including project managers, reports Business & Leadership, which make up over a quarter of the 126 new jobs promoted at Career Zoo in Dublin.
Shaun Brown, resourcing manager at the IT Alliance Group, said: “The growth in cloud computing is fuelling demand not only for people with remote IT management and support skills, but for project management, IT security and network professionals to oversee its implementation and support. Demand is buoyant not only in Dublin but in Cork and Limerick as well.”
ILX, a leading provider of project management training courses, has responded to this new information, celebrating the increased need for project managers and highlighting the necessity for appropriate training to ensure individuals can fulfil these roles. A spokesperson for the company said:
“The need for skilled project managers is growing and this new report specifically from the IT sector demonstrates this increasing requirement, with new technologies requiring skilled and experienced project managers to successfully implement and drive project success within an organisation. This will naturally highlight the need for training. It will be crucial to ensure that everyone involved has the capability to fulfil their role and help bring a project to its successful conclusion.”
