William H. Janeway, economist and senior adviser at Warburg Pincus, will discuss the dynamics of the innovation economy, at the next Signature Lecture at The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI).

“What I Learned by Doing Capitalism” will take place from 7–9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5. Janeway will draw from his 2012 book Doing Capitalism in the Innovation Economy: Markets, Speculation and the State (Cambridge University Press), in which he combines personal reflections from a career spanning 40 years in venture capital, with the development of an original theory of the role of asset bubbles in financing technological innovation and of the role of the state in playing an enabling role in the innovation process.
