New York, NY (PRWEB) February 27, 2014 -- Mashable, the leading media company for the Connected Generation and the voice of digital culture, announced today that it has brought on Jessica Plautz as the site's first Travel Editor. Plautz’s hire will help Mashable continue to document the digital revolution, diving deeper into the major disruption digital has brought to travel.
"Social media has forever changed the way we travel; from digital checkins to crowdsourced itineraries, we only see more change and excitement to come in the space," said Jim Roberts, Chief Content Officer and Executive Editor. "With Jessica on board we will be able to go much deeper into the travel topics that our audience loves, and provide more resources on leisure and adventures in the digital age."
Plautz will continue Mashable’s longtime focus on digital culture and lifestyle, by broadening the Mashable communities' global perspective, spotlighting readers’ stories and providing inspiration for future exploration.
Plautz joins Mashable from Skift where she was the Social Media and Engagement Manager. She also was previously the Communications and Engagement Manager at INN and a Creative Fellow at Upworthy.
