EarlyShares CSO to Speak at CFDA Short Course on Crowdfunding March 7 in Washington, DC

EarlyShares, the funding platform that connects smart investors with unique opportunities, today announced that its Co-Founder & Chief Strategy Officer Heather Schwarz-Lopes will serve as a speaker for the ‘Short Course’ on Crowdfunding from the Council of Development Finance Agencies (CFDA). The course is part of a special four-part series from the CFDA Training Institute.

The Council of Development Finance Agencies is a national association dedicated to the advancement of development finance concerns and interests. The CDFA Training Institute is the nation’s most comprehensive education initiative dedicated to the economic development finance industry.

The 2014 Short Courses are part of the CDFA Training Institute’s professional development process to explore new ideas and content for potential courses offered in the Development Finance Certified Professional (DFCP) Program. The following topics will be the focus of this year's Short Courses:

  •     Commercial Real Estate Finance
  •     Financing Manufacturers
  •     Crowdfunding

The Crowdfunding course in which EarlyShares CSO Heather Schwarz-Lopes will participate will explain the crowdfunding concept and discuss why it is a growing area of interest for business financing. Accompanying Heather on the panel will be Pravina Raghavan, Deputy Associate Administrator of the Office of Investment and Innovation of the U.S. Small Business Administration, and Georgia Quinn, Attorney for Seyfarth Shaw LLP in New York.
