Big Data is Here as AxisPointe Releases New Dashboard to Provide Automated Remote Job Site Viewing and OverSight Approvals
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- For decades, the only way for bank appraisers and inspectors who needed to verify percentage of completion of a job site was to drive out there and take a look. Loan officers, appraisers and inspectors often travel long distances just to verify that a foundation has been placed, and a stack of lumber has been delivered to the job.
AxisPointe hopes its technology will eliminate these long, expensive drives and put loan officers back into the office, where they can be more productive. Its InSite Query™ web-enabled dashboard offers incredible visibility to any construction site and eliminates the drive while slashing time delays, paperwork and costs.
InSite Query works in conjunction with AxisPointe’s InSite Mobile™ iPhone application, where users track daily tasks and answer specific quality, safety, and milestone checkpoints using their smart phone. For bank draws, specific questions are embedded into the schedule and trigger required actions of the field user, who verifies compliance on any task or milestone. GPS verification and a process known as 'Geo-Fencing' tracks the information to verify it is coming from exactly where it should be.
“I know there are a lot of people who love to drive all around the countryside, but I am not one of them,” said Stan Luhr, AxisPointe’s CEO and a builder for 38 years, who developed the program. “If we can eliminate many of these wasted trips just to take a single photograph, costs will go down and the customer ultimately benefits.”
Luhr’s company has been providing risk management services for builders since 2002. Before that, he developed similar technologies using scanners and ruggedized touch screen computers to help builders eliminate risk and costly defects. The progression to automated bank draws and other remote site verification was a natural for his InSite Mobile product, which Luhr claims is the industry’s very first smart phone QA compliance application.
The interactive dashboard allows users to search and filter dates, locations, specific checkpoints and more. Data is then viewed in the InSite Query viewer, where photos containing satellite imagery and GPS coordinates are displayed to verify the photo was taken at a precise job site location. The user can then approve, reject, or refer the specific checkpoint back to the field for corrective action or additional information, say when a photo is blurry.
Builders are encouraged to enter additional data and answer checkpoints from a selection of the company's 5,000 checkpoints, which help the builder reduce costs by eliminating mistakes and defects. Lenders get the added benefit of accessing far more data than could ever be collected during a bank draw or construction milestone inspection, Luhr says.
For AxisPointe, likely the most significant benefit is the time and money automation saves the builder and the lender, since the costs can be 50-percent of traditional bank draw inspections. Paperwork is eliminated and the builder can even use the system to show their home buyers photos as construction progresses, said Luhr.
