Announcement: BluesGuitar.com Releases “How to Play "Whipping Post" by Duane Allman & Dickey Betts - Electric Blues Guitar Lesson”
(PRWEB) February 27, 2014 -- “If we’re talking about blues, we can’t leave out Duane Allman and Dickey Betts, two amazing talented and soulful blues guitarists,” says MacLennan. Jon demonstrates the song as follows; first he teaches a lick that uses hammer-on’s and pull-off’s by using first finger on the 3rd fret of the 6th string and 3rd finger on 5th fret and doing multiple pull-off’s from the 5th to the 3rd fret and then doing hammer-on’s back to the 5th fret. He repeats this sequence four times and follows it with 5th fret 5th string to 3rd fret 5th string and then repeats the whole sequence. Next he plays a lick that is based in Am Pentatonic using the notes on the 5th and 7th frets of the 4th and 3rd strings. Finally he demonstrates the chords from the progression as being Am, Bm, and Cm and demonstrates them as playing an open Am and simple moving it up the next so that his first finger moves to the 3rd fret for Bm and 4th fret for Cm. Guitar TAB’s are available for this lesson at BluesGuitar.com.
