Arlington, VA (PRWEB) March 03, 2014
This month, the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) will further its journey into the new, digital frontier with the debut of its very own channel on the Community Safety Institute (CSI), E-learning Academy Network.
NCPC's new channel will offer online training programs and crime prevention certification courses for law enforcement, crime prevention practitioners, and community volunteers. The initial online training offerings begin with a suite of courses on Neighborhood Watch, senior safety, and general crime prevention. In the coming months, NCPC will expand its channel offerings to include gang violence prevention and additional basic crime prevention courses.
“NCPC is excited to expand its training capacity through this partnership with Community Safety Institute,” said Ann M. Harkins, NCPC president and CEO. “Our organization gives law enforcement and others the training they need to increase public safety, even during tough budget times.”
The NCPC channel consists of a series of secured e-learning modules delivered through a portal for law enforcement and public safety personnel. The CSI Academy is the perfect platform to deliver complex training courses full of videos, games, tests, and innovative content to users 24/7. The CSI Academy provides organizations such as NCPC with the capability to track their participants' progress, assign passing grade levels, monitor time in courses, automatically grade quizzes and tests, and electronically issue customized certificates of completion.
"At the Community Safety Institute we have a long history in public safety and are excited about being bringing the NCPC E-Learning Channel to crime prevention practitioners all throughout the nation," said John Matthews, nationally recognized public safety expert and author of Neighborhood Watch 101.
NCPC trains ten to twenty thousand law enforcement personnel and crime prevention practitioners every year through our affordable offerings in more than fifteen categories. CSI has provided training and technical assistance for hundreds of law enforcement agencies for more than two decades. The partnership will develop innovative, research-based curricula to expand the reach beyond law enforcement and crime prevention practitioners to include security professionals, community volunteers, and others.
