Amica Encourages Drivers to Have an Emergency Kit Ready
Lincoln, RI (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- Commuting to work, driving the kids to afterschool activities and taking the family on vacation can put a lot of stress on a vehicle. That’s why Amica Insurance recommends having an emergency kit ready in the event your car breaks down.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the kit should contain:
• Jumper cables
• A flashlight and batteries
• Warning devices like flares or markers
• A small shovel and abrasive material – like kitty litter – if your vehicle is stuck in the snow
It’s also a good idea to have a charged cell phone and survival kit available, in case you need to call for assistance or are stranded in inclement weather.
