Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- Today, business law firm Garvey Schubert Barer announced the addition of two attorneys to its Portland Office—Steven D. Nofziger and Jennifer F. Gould.
Steven D. Nofziger has returned to Garvey Schubert Barer after spending several years practicing with Hershner Hunter, LLP, one of the preeminent law firms in Eugene, Oregon. Mr. Nofziger first joined Garvey Schubert Barer in 2006 and practiced with the firm until he and his family moved to Eugene in 2011. Mr. Nofziger’s practice focuses on employee benefits and executive compensation, taxation and business planning matters. He has considerable experience in drafting and handling compliance issues for qualified retirement plans and executive compensation arrangements, advising on ERISA compliance and fiduciary liability matters, assisting employers in complying with health care reform requirements, providing tax planning advice to businesses and individuals, representing taxpayers in tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service and the Oregon Department of Revenue, negotiating and structuring business transactions and assisting clients with business succession planning and ownership transfers. Mr. Nofziger is a frequent speaker and author on tax and employee benefit matters.
Jennifer F. Gould's practice focuses on litigation and estate planning. Ms. Gould received her B.A. degree in English from Fresno Pacific University in 1999. She received her J.D. degree from UCLA School of Law in 2006, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif.
While at UCLA, Ms. Gould was Business Manager of the Journal of Environmental Law and Policy and Assistant Chief Managing Editor of the Women’s Law Journal. Ms. Gould was also Co-Chair of the Disability Law Society and volunteered with the General Relief Assistance Program.
Following law school, Ms. Gould served as a law clerk to the Honorable Carlos T. Bea of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
