The Canada-India Business Council & Dentons Canada Host Private Discussion On The Shared Mining Opportunities Between Canada & India
Toronto, Ontario, Canada (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- With a population of 1.2 billion, India is currently the world’s fourth largest energy consumer with demand projected to grow exponentially as urbanization and industrialization intensify.
Against this backdrop, the Canada-India Business Council (C-IBC) is pleased to join with leading law firm Dentons Canada LLP to host a private lunch for the delegation of Indian mining companies and government agencies attending the 2014 Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) conference.
PDAC is the premier event for the global mining and mineral industry. The Indian delegation is led by Additional Secretary Mr. R. Sridharan, Ministry of Mines.
The discussion will focus on opportunities and recent developments in the Indian mining and mineral sector such as the new coal sector regulator, the lapse of the Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation (MMDR) Bill and India’s trial iron ore auctions.
“In the midst of all the activity around PDAC, the C-IBC is pleased to provide a private forum that allows government, industry and business leaders to meet and share insights on the opportunities in this important sector and to create the personal relationships that translate into business partnerships.” Says Peter Sutherland, President & CEO of the C-IBC.
The event is restricted to C-IBC patrons and members.
