The Jacksonville Homes for Heroes Helps Another Save Thousands
Jacksonville, Florida (PRWEB) March 03, 2014 -- After nearly a year of being an affiliate of the national Homes for Heroes© organization and the most active affiliate in her area, Keller Williams Jacksonville Realty's CC Underwood, Team Leader of the Sellin' With CC Team, has already found homes for many local heroes in Northeast Florida.
One hero in particular is Navy Servicemen Timothy McIntyre, who, in December of last year, closed on his new home and saved nearly $4,000 through the Jacksonville Homes for Heroes on the price of his home. McIntyre also received a check back for just over $1,200 at closing, adding to his savings.
Since its inception in 2002 in the wake of the attacks of September 11, 2001, Homes for Heroes has given back nearly $5 million to its Heroes and is increasing all the time. Underwood is proud to be one of only a handful of Homes for Heroes affiliates in the area and sees this as a way to give back to the local Navy community. Jacksonville is home to Naval Air Station Mayport, home to over 14,000 active duty servicemen, as well as NAS Jacksonville. In addition to active duty personnel, the area is also home to 45,000 family members and retirees and 1,400 civilian employees.
