RCN Customers Can Access Tons of Apps on their TV at No Additional Cost with Introduction of Opera TV Store on TiVo

RCN, an industry-leading provider of high-speed Internet, digital TV, and phone services, is now providing customers with unlimited access to popular interactive TV apps that are accessible from the comfort of their couch. Now customers can explore social media, news, games, weather, entertainment and other apps right on their existing televisions through RCN’s new Opera TV Store on TiVo.

RCN’s Opera TV Store on TiVo is an app “storefront” offering a collection of web apps that are optimized for television screens and displayed in a layout designed for widescreen TVs. RCN TiVo customers will be able to access tons of popular interactive apps at no additional cost by pushing the “TiVo” button on their RCN remote controls and selecting “Apps & Games” and the “Opera TV Store” option from the TiVo Central menu.

With these new apps, RCN TiVo customers can connect to popular social media sites like Facebook, Opera for Twitter, Opera for Instagram and more. RCN’s Opera TV Store on TiVo allows customers to synchronize their existing social network account information so they can post, share and interact from their televisions. Users simply need to enter their existing account information on their RCN TiVo and connect with friends and family just as they would on their computer or mobile device. Customers can also check the weather, play games and create a personalized list of their favorite apps for easy access via all the TVs in their home.

The Opera TV Store on TiVo is available immediately to all RCN TiVo customers. Those RCN homes that have a TiVo box installed have already been updated and can access and begin using this great new feature now. If an existing customer does not have a TiVo box, a simple phone call to the RCN Call Center can change the way you experience TV.
