Nearly 3,000 Charter Leaders, Teachers, and Parents Gather in San Jose for the 21st Annual California Charter Schools Conference
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) March 03, 2014 -- Nearly 3,000 charter school leaders gather to celebrate people, innovation and academic achievement in California's charter schools at the 21st Annual California Charter Schools Conference, held March 3-6, 2014 at the San Jose Convention Center, San Jose, CA. Hosted by the California Charter Schools Association (CCSA), the three-day annual conference draws the charter movement's best and brightest leaders and is the largest state charter school conference in the country.
This year’s conference theme is “Achievement through Innovation”. Cultivating innovation and sharing best practices are vital to a movement rich in diversity and committed to accountability. In addition to 160+ workshops, 250+ exhibitors, a Parent Summit, and many special programming events, there are celebrations designed to recognize excellence, refuel passion and reignite imagination.
The California Charter Schools Conference offers resources, guidance, and advocacy support to a charter school movement that has grown to 1,130 schools serving 519,000 students.

Tuesday, March 4
Reed Hastings, founder and CEO, Netflix, will give the opening keynote address on Tuesday. In addition to being CEO of Netflix, Hastings is a member of the board of directors of several educational non-profits, including CCSA.

Wednesday, March 5
Jed Wallace, president and CEO, CCSA, will present the keynote address on Wednesday. Under Wallace’s leadership, CCSA supports more charter schools than any other state in the nation.
San Jose Charter School Tours. Also on Wednesday, from 8:30 am – 10:30 am, conference attendees have the opportunity to visit and tour several local San Jose charter schools including, Downtown College Prep, ACE Charter Middle School, Voices College-Bound Language Academy, and Alpha Middle School.
Thursday, March 6
Lisa Leslie, four time Olympic Gold Medalist, former WNBA player, co-owner of the LA Sparks, author, and charter school advocate will give the closing keynote address on Thursday.
