ARC (Alternative Resolution Centers) is pleased to announce that acclaimed entertainment and intellectual property specialist John A. Schulman has joined our panel. Mr. Schulman brings more than four decades of industry experience to his ADR practice. He was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Warner Bros. Entertainment for 25 years and currently serves as Executive Director of the Entertainment Law Program at USC Gould School of Law. At Warner Bros., Mr. Schulman built and oversaw the studio’s in-house legal staff of 150 attorneys, handling complex rights cases and copyright disputes as well as matters involving economic interests and participation claims.
“We are honored to have John Schulman as an exclusive member of the ARC panel. We look forward to building a strong entertainment practice with John’s leadership. His illustrious career in the entertainment industry speaks for itself. He has successfully negotiated and settled more high profile entertainment disputes than just about anyone else in his field,” said ARC President Amy Newman. “Mr. Schulman draws high praise in every regard. With his experience on both a national and international stage, we expect him to be in demand as a mediator of complex business disputes and intellectual property cases as well.”
In addition to overseeing the USC Entertainment Law Program, Mr. Schulman is currently a partner at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP. Mr. Schulman joined Warner Bros. in 1984 and since 1989, served as Executive Vice President & General Counsel. Prior to joining Warner Bros., Mr. Schulman practiced law at Kaplan, Livingston, Goodwin, Berkowitz and Selvin and later as one of the founding partners of the firm then known as Weissman, Wolff, Bergman, Coleman & Schulman.
