Pasadena, TX (PRWEB) March 03, 2014

Effective March 1, 2014, Kaneka North America LLC will increase the price for its Kaneka CPVC resins by $0.06/lb. According to Eddie Smith, Vice President of CPVC Sales, “Tight supply and increasingly strong demand in the global market continue to drive the CPVC marketplace”.
Kaneka CPVC is a chlorinated polyvinyl chloride resin developed using Kaneka's unique technology. CPVC is characterized by heat resistance which has been improved by 20 to 40°C without harming PVC's physical and chemical properties. CPVC can be used in applications under high temperatures, where general purpose PVC would soften, rendering it useless.
Practical Heat Resistance:
The temperature at which Kaneka CPVC begins to soften is higher than conventional PVC by 20 to 40 degrees(C). Owing to this enhanced heat resistant property Kaneka CPVC , used in such applications as hot-water supply pipes and industrial clean tanks, which are usually exposed to high temperatures, provides better toughness and creep resistance than ordinary PVC.
Chemical and Corrosion Resistance:
Kaneka CPVC has better corrosion-resistance properties than many metallic pipes, and provides chemical resistance as good as ordinary PVC, especially at high temperatures.
Excellent Flame Resistance and Low Smoke Generation:
Kaneka CPVC is self-extinguishing, and is superior compared to ordinary PVC in its resistance to flame, owing to its much lower smoke generation and limiting oxygen index. Overall, Kaneka CPVC offer superior properties as a flame resistant plastic.
Molding Properties:
Many types of molding machines used for PVC can also be used with Kaneka CPVC, by applying and adjusting basic formulations and processing conditions for ordinary PVC.
Handling Fabrication:
Kaneka CPVC provides adhesion equal to that of PVC and easy handling property in such applications as piping. Additionally, work such as welding, bending, sleeving, and vacuum molding are possible with Kaneka CPVC.
Kaneka has an integrated system for CPVC from PVC production to chlorination. Kaneka also boasts advanced polymer-designing capability and high-quality chlorination technology. Kaneka also possesses a worldwide technical service network. This allows Kaneka to develop new products by closely working with customers and markets around the world.
