Written by debut author Adelaide Godwin, Landing On My Feet is an odyssey of a feline kind, packed full of adventures that will really excite children. It follows nicely in that noble tradition of animal adventure books such as Watership Down and Charlotte’s Web.

The story centres around the trials and tribulations of a Spanish cat, Poohka. Scooped up and dumped by a garbage truck, Poohka is left near dead, miles from his Sotogrande home. But with the help of other animals, the plucky cat embarks on an incredible journey homeward, one that tests every ounce of his wit and strength and teaches him the true meaning of friendship.

Author, Adelaide Godwin is a former British Airways hostess and actress now living in southern Spain. Adelaide has managed to inject her lifetime of travel and adventure into this, her first book.

Landing On My Feet also features delightful illustrations by Alice Prior, a young illustrator who recently graduated from Gloucester University with first class honours.

‘This is a bit of a departure for us’, said Neil Jeffries, Managing Director of Digital Leaf, ‘as we typically publish picture books. But once I started reading the story I couldn’t put it down and felt we just had to publish it.’

Digital Leaf’s new titles are eagerly anticipated in the industry these days after one of their titles, ‘Oh, What a Tangle!’ by Anita Pouroulis won the Best Children’s Book Award at 2013’s Shanghai Children’s Book Fair.
