Rochester Hills, Mich. (PRWEB) March 05, 2014

Plymouth Technology, a provider of industrial water and wastewater treatment and consulting services, today announced receiving a $75,000 grant from the Michigan New Job Training Program delivered through Oakland Community College’s Economic and Workforce Development team.

The state-sponsored, cost-effective program provides qualified businesses with workers trained in the skills needed by growing, technology-oriented companies in Michigan. The State of Michigan enacted a law that allows Oakland Community College to have taxes from the qualified new employees diverted to the college to fund training expenses. All jobs are full-time positions that result in a net increase in staffing for the participating companies.

"Plymouth Technology is a tremendous example of a Michigan-based technology company eagerly seeking qualified workers for its specialized needs," said Oakland Community College Business Services Manager Sandra Wagner Bachert. "OCC and the State of Michigan are collaborating to ensure that Plymouth Technology and other thriving companies are able to attract the ideal candidates that are required for their workforce."

“We are grateful that the State of Michigan and Oakland Community College are committed to train students with the skills needed to meet the rigorous demands of jobs in the new economy,” stated Plymouth Technology President Amanda Christides. “This program prepares workers for desirable, well-paying jobs. It is the veritable win-win solution for everyone as it benefits companies like ours as well as the motivated individuals in the program and the communities in which they live and work.”
