Golf Tournament to Benefit "House That Kenan-Flagler Built" for Habitat for Humanity
Chapel Hill, N.C. (PRWEB) March 04, 2014 -- Tee up for a good cause at the 22nd annual UNC Kenan-Flagler Habitat for Humanity Golf Classic at the Preserve of Jordan Lake, a Davis Love III signature course, on April 11.
For $150 per golfer or $575 per foursome, golfers can compete in the tournament and help “raise the roof” for a North Carolina family. Included in the tax-deductible donation is a round of golf, unlimited access to the driving range and putting greens, a boxed lunch, on-course beverages and refreshments, and a thank-you bag.
All funds raised will benefit UNC Kenan-Flagler’s partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Orange County.
Every year for the past 10 years, students, faculty and staff have built community while serving the community. They honor the School’s core values by providing financial support – $50,000 this year – and sweat equity – thousands of volunteer hours annually from students, faculty and staff for “The House that Kenan-Flagler Built” initiative, said Kate Remus (MBA ’14).
And the cumulative impact is impressive, she said. “More than 2,500 volunteers from the UNC Kenan-Flagler community have donated more than 30,000 hours of construction work and raised more than $325,000 so far to help 10 Orange County families build a better future for their children.”
The 10th “House that Kenan-Flagler Built” is the future home of Theresa and Phillip Thompson and their two young children.
“The support and investment of our corporate sponsors and partners helps power this important work, creating connections between future business leaders and the importance of community investment,” said Remus.
Register to play and join sponsors Wells Fargo, SPX, Mizuno & PwC to help a family’s dream come true.
