Thermoplastics and their Role in Aerospace Engineering the Topic of New SAE International Webcast
Warrendale, PA (PRWEB) March 04, 2014 -- SAE International offers a new, free-of-charge webcast titled “Shaping Future Aerospace Performance with Thermoplastics,” on Wednesday, March 26 at 11 a.m., EDT.
The aerospace industry is repeatedly tasked with improving fuel efficiency, hitting lean manufacturing goals, and enhancing the service life and safety of today’s aircraft. The challenge is to find innovative materials and solutions that can help remove weight, improve assembly times, and provide reliability in a range of different environments.
“Shaping Future Aerospace Performance with Thermoplastics” will look at PEEK thermoplastic resins, film, pipe, and materials for composites and examine a case study involving the collaborative efforts taken to develop next-generation clamping technologies for the Boeing 787.
Webcast attendees will be invited to interact with the experts during a question-and-answer segment, and they can participate in a survey for a chance to win a set of high-end headphones that use the latest PEEK film speaker technologies.
Webcast speakers for the Victrex Polymer Solutions will be:
• Robert Mazzella, Aerospace Market Development Manager
• Richard Leibfried, Technical Sales and Marketing Manager
The webcast is sponsored by Victrex and hosted by SAE International.
Moderator will be Lisa Arrigo, Custom Electronic Products Editor, SAE International.
