Auto Windscreens Motorsport Launches to Support BRDC Rising Stars
(PRWEB UK) 5 March 2014 -- Auto Windscreens is helping to drive the future of motorsport as a new patron of the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) Rising Star scheme, supporting upcoming talented young racers.
Accompanying this is a brand new Auto Windscreens Motorsport website, celebrating the company’s 40-year affiliation with racing, promoting the current Rising Stars and giving visitors the chance to win coveted race tickets and prizes through a motorsport fantasy challenge.
The sponsorship is the latest in a long line of motorsport partnerships for the leading automotive glazing company. Last year Auto Windscreens supported World Touring Car Championship driver, Tom Chilton, and Sam Brabham, who debuted in the Formula Ford series. It will continue to sponsor both again in 2014.
Nigel Davies, Auto Windscreens’ Managing Director, said of the BRDC partnership: “British motorsport is part of Auto Windscreens’ heritage and it seems fitting that we are now supporting its future through our involvement in the BRDC Rising Star programme.”
He added: “We have long toyed with the idea of developing an Auto Windscreens Motorsport website but now is an ideal time to help raise awareness of tomorrow’s racing drivers. No doubt the motorsport fantasy challenge will also encourage some friendly online competition among racing fans.”
The BRDC Rising Star initiative was devised to give young drivers who are serious about racing the opportunity to progress and make motorsport their career. Among those who have benefitted from the programme is 2008 Formula One world champion, Lewis Hamilton.
Stuart Pringle, Secretary of the BRDC, added: “The Rising Star Scheme is an immensely important part of the BRDC as it forms the future of the club and it is terrific to have Auto Windscreens’ support for 2014. Those drivers who are accepted to join the programme are exceptionally talented and our scouts select those that show great skill and determination, both individually and when driving.”
