Sherri Donovan Esq. appears on VH1 hit show, Mob Wives, offering legal counsel to mob wife, Renee Graziano, whose ex-husband is soon to be released from prison.

Being on Mob Wives was fun, but at the same time I wanted to tell women caught up in violent, abusive relationships that they have legal options available to get out of their situations.

Sherri Donovan, New York divorce lawyer, appeared on the VH1 hit show Mob Wives, where she provided legal counsel to mob wife Renee Graziano. Ms. Donovan's expertise is in domestic violence and legal protection from stalking and harassment, issues of particular interest to Mrs. Graziano, whose abusive ex-husband Junior is about to be released from prison.

The scene opens with Renee Graziano being chauffeured to Ms. Donovan's office and explaining to the audience the reason she is seeking legal advice. Once in the office she tells Donovan that her ex has been writing and calling to express his desire that the mob couple try to rekindle their relationship after he is released from jail. Mrs. Graziano goes on to explain that she wants nothing to do with Junior and that she fears that once he is out of prison, he will stalk and harass her.

It soon becomes clear that while Graziano wants and needs legal advice, she is hesitant to follow through with Ms. Donovan's unequivocal recommendations out of concern for breaking the mob family protocol on such matters. "My thing is I come from a specific family life style," Renee explains to Ms. Donovan. "This, right here (their meeting) is gonna be wrong to a lot of people." Graziano then cut right to the chase about her feelings on seeking legal counsel for her family problem. "I would never go to a lawyer. I would never go to cops or anything like that. To me personally, what I'm doing right now between you and I, I feel like this is a rat thing. I don't like this."

Sherri Donovan will hear none of it. She proves to be just as tough as the underworld wife sitting across from her replying, "This is not ratting. This is protecting." She then makes the point more emphatically saying, "If you don't do this you are ratting on yourself."

While being on Mob Wives was certainly entertaining and enjoyable for Sherri Donovan she was just as pleased with the chance to send a strong message to other women who might also being dealing with similar issues. Donovan was very stern in advising Ms. Graziano that she had good legal options available to her, and that she should consider taking them; a message that, in Ms. Donovan's opinion, many other women need to hear. "Being on Mob Wives was fun, but at the same time I wanted to tell women caught up in violent, abusive relationships that they have legal options available to get out of their situations."
