Portales Los Cabos Offering Condos for Sale and New Construction Services on the East Cape of Baja

The San Francisco Bay Area and Los Cabos design and construction company brings a unique residential property type to a remote area near Cabo Pulmo.

Portales Los Cabos, an architecture studio and development company in San Jose del Cabo, B.C.S., announced February 24th, 2014 that pre-sale contracts will be accepted for its planned mixed-use residential community, Centro Vinorama Studios located in Boca de las Vinoramas, B.C.S., between Cabo Pulmo and Los Zacatitos.

“This is a pre-sale opportunity that is quite different than most. Normally with pre-sale, the construction begins after a certain quantity is sold. With the Studios, we can build after the sale of just 1 unit since we have designed these to be separate dwellings part of a unified concept,” says architect and developer Tobias Hafenecker-Dodge.

Infrastructure and lack of services has kept the East Cape underdeveloped because construction in such a remote location can be very difficult, but Portales Los Cabos has removed those difficulties from the equation with the construction of phase one of the Centro Vinorama master plan–VIDASOUL Hotel. “The hotel being built really helps people to visualize what we’re trying to do here, and we’ve provided a comfortable base camp for potential property owners to come and sample the East Cape experience–take it for a test drive, if you will,” says Hafenecker-Dodge.
Sustainability and community are pillars of the design concept of the Centro project. The completed structure holds over 100 solar panels and a 32Kw battery panel system. “We now have the largest solar array on the East Cape. That is something I am very proud of,” Hafenecker-Dodge says. The master plan for Centro Vinorama is more than just loft-style condominiums and hotel rooms, it’s all about establishing community. From 2014-2020, the developers master plan is to construct a clinic, school, office space, store, and beach club.

The Centro Vinorama Studios will have 3 unit types; a 600 sq. feet Studio with ocean views from $99,000 and up (depending on add-ons), a 1200 sq. feet 2 level 1BR from $199,000 and a 1200 sq. feet, 1BR, 2 level penthouse from $239,000. The design is sophisticated and elegant, but highly functional. Each unit will have its own separate solar power system, portal ocean views, and a polished concrete finish on the floors, walls and ceilings. “The idea is that we enable condo owners to spend their days surfing, ATV riding, or just relaxing, and then come back to a modern, artful environment that is extremely low maintenance. The virtually zero-maintenance design really empowers property owners to embrace the Baja lifestyle,” says Tobias Hafenecker-Dodge.
