Broadmoor Golf Continues to Garner Awards in 2014
Colorado Springs, Colorado (PRWEB) March 04, 2014 -- Resort Honored with Reader’s Choice and Staff Pick Awards from Annual Colorado Avid Golfer CAGGY Awards
The golf program at the Five-Star, Five-Diamond resort The Broadmoor continues to garner awards in 2014. On the heels of being named the “#1 Golf Resort in North America” by Golf Magazine readers, the resort has been honored by Colorado Avid Golfer’s CAGGY Awards.
The annual Colorado Avid Golfer CAGGY Awards celebrate the best in Colorado golf. To complement reader selections, Colorado Avid Golfer editors include their own “Staff Picks” for each category. The Broadmoor secured both Reader’s Choice and Staff Pick for “Best Southern Colorado Course,” “Best Conditions,” “Best Staff,” “Best Service” and “Best Stay and Play”, as well as the Reader’s Choice and Staff Pick for “Best Southern Colorado Private Club.”
The Colorado Avid Golfer CAGGY Awards follow an impressive year of national recognition for The Broadmoor’s golf program. Most recently Golf Magazine named The Broadmoor the “#1 Golf Resort in North America, while last year Links Magazine named The Broadmoor one of the “25 Best Golf Resorts in the World.” Also in 2013, The Broadmoor was named one of the “Global Ten” resort golf operations in the world by Gary Galyean’s Golf Letter and received a Platinum Award from AGM (Associated Golf Merchandisers).
“We are proud to receive such accolades from both Colorado golfers and the staff of Colorado Avid Golfer magazine,” says Russ Miller, Director of Golf. “At The Broadmoor our intention is to offer guests an experience that showcases the best Colorado has to offer.”
The Broadmoor has three distinct championship courses, the East Course, West Course, and Mountain Course. The Broadmoor’s championship East and West courses, designed by Donald Ross and Robert Trent Jones Sr., offer scenic and challenging play for golfers of all handicaps. The East Course is known for its historical layout and challenging greens, while the West Course offers rolling fairways and steeply-angled greens. The Mountain Course by Nicklaus Design adds an additional 18 challenging holes, large greens and captivating mountain views, ideal for a range of skill levels.
In addition to golf, The Broadmoor is home to over fifteen on-property dining options, including the Five-Star Five-Diamond Penrose Room, the award-winning Spa at The Broadmoor, and award-winning tennis facilities. The Broadmoor has been the proud host of seven USGA championships.
