PCS Hires Kriss Salgado, former Chelan County PUD Compliance Analyst
Brookfield, WI (PRWEB) March 05, 2014 -- Proven Compliance Solutions Inc. (PCS) is pleased to announce the addition of Kriss Salgado, former Compliance Analyst with Chelan County PUD, to the PCS team. PCS is a leader in the field of NERC Regulatory Compliance providing consulting services to registered entities of all sizes.
Prior to joining PCS, Kriss’ experience includes ten years in the electric power industry. In 2004 she joined Chelan County PUD where she worked in the physical security department implementing security measures for the organization. Her work in the NERC Electric Reliability Standards arena began in 2008. As a Compliance Program Manager, Kriss was heavily involved with both Operations and Planning (FERC Order No. 693) and Critical Infrastructure Protection (FERC Order No. 706) compliance that included coordination and collaboration with Subject Matter Experts to develop operational reliability procedures.
During CIP implementation, she was involved with security plan development, instituted security system management practices, and implemented a robust CIP employee training program. She also facilitated internal audit processes, provided gap analyses, and managed the internal compliance program and the collection and retention of evidence documentation. In addition, she facilitated two NERC/WECC audits and managed the system operator training program in preparation for the implementation of PER-005.
Kriss’ earlier experience includes post-9/11 work where she embarked on an extensive program of security upgrades to create comprehensive security plans and physical measures to protect two hydropower dams and transmission. That work earned Chelan a 2008 National Hydropower Association award and recognition of Chelan’s “best practices” with both the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and FERC. She is an active member of various industry forums including the Western Interconnection Compliance Forum (WICF), as well as a former member of the Large Public Power Council (LPPC) monitoring standards development, impacts, and NERC interpretations. Kriss has an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Trans-Disciplinary Emergency Management from Casa Loma College.
As a new member to the PCS team, Kriss will be monitoring and tracking the constantly changing regulatory requirements, including NERC and Regional reliability standards under development, as well as NERC and Regional compliance activities and communications. Kriss will also assist with procedure development, marketing, and coordination of proposals and office functions.
