Walk with The Giving Tree Wellness Center in Take Steps for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) March 04, 2014 -- At the heart of alternative healing is a holistic approach and strong community. The Giving Tree Wellness Center has locations in Mesa and Phoenix, and focuses largely on pain management for those tackling chronic conditions and diseases including Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis. For many, medical marijuana is a key treatment component that can greatly reduce intestinal inflammation, a common symptom of Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis, which can be so severe for some sufferers that it becomes debilitating. In addition, The Giving Tree is also a haven for cost-effective massages and yoga classes, which can be great complementary additions to a comprehensive pain management plan, whether patients are battling ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease or any other ailment, from cancer to chronic pain.
On March 29, 2014, The Giving Tree will be literally making strides to help raise funds and awareness for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). “The more green we raise, the more good we can do and The Giving Tree is matching all donations,” says Lilach Mazor Power, the Giving Tree Center Manager. By participating in the Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis event, the Giving Tree is living up to its name. Committed to giving back to the community, their neighbors and non-profit organizations, the Center is an Arizona staple and model for community engagement. The Giving Tree is comprised of a dedicated team of professionals who embrace a holistic approach not just to health, well-being and pain management, but to life.
The Center has a goal of raising $6,000 for the upcoming event. “We are thrilled to be walking and raising with you. Together we will have a ton of fun and raise money for research at the same time,” says Power. The CCFA’s national walk and celebration is the largest in the country dedicated solely to finding cures for inflammatory bowel diseases. Not only is The Giving Tree matching all donations, but they are also having a raffle available to Arizona Medical Marijuana cardholders for a chance to win $500 worth of products.
During the leisurely two-mile stroll, each step taken represents a generous donation that will be directed towards crucial research. There are more than 1.4 million Americans, both adults and children, who suffer from digestive diseases. Oftentimes, they suffer in silence. Raising awareness, and funds, with an enjoyable, energetic and supportive event perfectly matches the attitude and vision of The Giving Tree. It’s a perfect match.
The teams have a few weeks left to raise the funds, and are happily accepting new team members, donations or both. It’s slated to be a family-friendly day of excitement with food, music and activities for kids. The Giving Tree has started raising money, and with one more month to go, the team is looking forward to meeting their goal. It’s time to help give a voice to the millions of worldwide sufferers, step by step.
