Golden, Colo. (PRWEB) March 04, 2014 -- HomeAdvisor, a Golden-based company, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain, Inc. (JA), part of the world’s largest organization dedicated to preparing young people to thrive in the 21st century workplace. Through this partnership HomeAdvisor employees will dedicate 1,600 hours of volunteer time with JA in 2014 to help with educational finance programs.
JA plans several in-class and out-of-class activities that focus on entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness for students from kindergarten through high school. Last school year JA taught 110,459 Colorado students by partnering with 500 schools and working with 5,000 volunteers.
“We are extremely grateful for HomeAdvisor’s support,” said Robin Wise, president and CEO of JA. “Their volunteers serve as valuable role models by helping students understand the important part that education plays in their future.”
This partnership is part of HomeAdvisor’s volunteer benefit that allows employees to take a paid day off to volunteer with a non-profit of their choice. HomeAdvisor employees have volunteered with JA since 2010 and this new collaboration with the organization will provide additional opportunities to make an impact.
“Giving back to the community is an important part of the HomeAdvisor culture,” said HomeAdvisor’s CEO Chris Terrill. “This partnership with Junior Achievement not only embraces that community spirit, but it also provides guidance to budding entrepreneurs and support to an important organization.”
