Marine Industry Cares Foundation Announces Cruise Industry Charitable Foundation As Spin-A-Thon Presenting Sponsor for the 2nd Year
Fort Lauderdae, FL (PRWEB) March 05, 2014 -- Cruise Industry Charitable Foundation (CICF) has been named the presenting sponsor of the 2014 MICF Annual Spin-A-Thon. This signature event for the Marine Industry Cares Foundation (MICF) raises money for the organization and it's community action programs, which are focused on helping children and families in need by providing hands-on support and funding for vital services and programs headed by location charitable organizations. The 2014 event is officially touted as the “6th Annual MICF Spin-A-Thon presented by Cruise Industry Charitable Foundation, and will take place on Friday April 25, 2014 at Esplanade Park in Fort Lauderdale Florida.
The 6th Annual Spin-A-Thon will feature 75 - 100 spinning bike teams that have committed to keeping their pedals turning for six hours to support the Foundation and its mission. It will bring the recreational marine, cruise and maritime communities together with other local and regional businesses, community groups and individuals for a fun afternoon and camaraderie around cause of improving the lives of at-risk children and families.
Cruise Industry Charitable Foundation is the charitable division of Cruise Lines International Association, which focuses its efforts on programs designed to strengthen and improve the quality of life in communities served by cruise lines in North America. CICF supports civic and community programs designed to enhance community economic development through job creation and training, and provides assistance to local community improvement projects.

MICF recently joined with several other local organizations to launch the 4th Annual Broward AWARE! Protecting OUR Children campaign, which is a child abuse prevention awareness campaign that uses the full spectrum of media to ensure that Broward County families, educators, media, law enforcement and all stakeholders use and share resources that make it possible for children to safely realize their full potential, hopes and dreams. Additionally, as part of its community action program launch for 2014, MICF organized a Job Sampling Tour for 13 students from ARC of Broward’s School for Hire and conducted a site visit to the school to talk to students about careers in the marine industry.
