Digital Sports Group announce the winner of the FTBpro PFA Fans' Player of the Month for February
(PRWEB UK) 4 March 2014 -- Fans were asked to vote for their player of the month for February and they responded in their masses, giving their support to the players they feel have impressed them the most during the month.
The polls are now closed, the votes have been counted and it is now time to reveal the winner of the FTBpro PFA Fans' Player of the Month award for February 2014.
Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)
The award comes following Sturridge’s outstanding performances for Liverpool throughout February in which he scored five goals and racked up two assists to keep Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title.
Sturridge netted in 1-1 draw with West Brom at the start of the month and followed that up with another goal in the 5-1 victory over title rivals Arsenal. Sturridge scored and assisted in the 3-2 comeback win over Fulham and he also scored a brace and an assist in the 4-3 win over Swansea at Anfield.
Sturridge’s goals helped Liverpool win three of their four Premier League games in February, the only points they dropped were in the 1-1 draw away to West Brom at the start of the month.
Sturridge and strike partner Luis Suarez have been in great form for Liverpool this season having scored 18 and 24 Premier League goals respectively, as Brendan Rodgers side continue to keep pace with league leaders Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table. Liverpool are currently second, four points behind Joes Mourinho’s side.
Liverpool have scored 73 goals in the Premier League this season- more than any other side and if they are to win their first league title since 1990 they will need Sturridge to continue his impressive goal scoring run until the end of the season.
