According to the American Diabetes Association, nearly 26 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes. 79 millions Americans have prediabetes. By 2050, as many as 1 in 3 American adults will have diabetes. 1 in 10 health care dollars is spent treating diabetes and its complications. The cost of diagnosed diabetes in the U.S. is $245 billion per year. “We cannot sit idle and watch this disease plague our nation.” Said Dr. Cooper.
Dr. Ben Carson is a world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon who understands firsthand the healthcare industry. A New York Times bestselling author and author of over 100 neurosurgical publications, he has been awarded with 60 honorary doctorate degrees.
Mr. Herman Cain is a former presidential front-runner. He is also an author, business executive, radio host, and syndicated columnist. He will speak at the program and introduce Dr. Ben Carson. “My father died of diabetes. I have a personal motive to be a part of this movement,” said Mr. Cain.
