FORA.tv to Broadcast an Intelligence Squared U.S. Debate Live March 5: "The President Has Constitutional Power to Target and Kill U.S. Citizens Abroad"

FORA.tv will present a free live stream of an Intelligence Squared U.S. debate presented in partnership with the National Constitution Center that considers whether or not the President has constitutional power to kill U.S. citizens abroad. Arguing in favor of the motion are Alan Dershowitz and Michael Lewis, against are Noah Feldman and Hina Shamsi.

What: FORA.tv, the leading online destination for video programs from the world’s best conferences and events, will broadcast the Intelligence Squared U.S. (IQ2US) Oxford-style debate, “The President Has Constitutional Power to Target and Kill U.S. Citizens Abroad.”

With the drone strike on accused terrorist and New Mexico-born Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen, President Obama has tested the limits of the executive branch's powers. Does the president have constitutional authority under the due process clause to kill U.S. citizens abroad, or is it a violation of this clause to unilaterally decide to target and kill Americans?

When: Wednesday, March 5th at 6:30 p.m. EST

Where: The debate will be streamed live at intelligencesquaredus.fora.tv. The debate will be interactive with a live chat and Twitter feed following the conversation around the event. Online viewers will also be able to vote along with the live audience members, sharing their opinion before the debate starts and at the conclusion once all arguments are heard. Following the live event, FORA.tv will offer the debate as a free on-demand program, and the full video and highlights will be available to share and embed.
