While in its first year of new ownership, it’s the first time the dealership has received this Nissan award.

Nissan has recognized Nissan of San Marcos for demonstrated excellence through sales and customer service in 2013 with the Owner First Award of Excellence. This is the first time the dealership has received the distinction and it can be largely contributed to the Vaughan family’s first year of ownership.

The award is given to dealers that represent the brand by setting the standard for the highest level of retail experience. “It’s our main priority at Nissan of San Marcos to go above and beyond customers’ expectations,” said Vic Vaughan, owner. “It’s incredible to be recognized in our efforts to provide the ultimate automotive retailing experience.”

Last year alone, Nissan of San Marcos sold over 1,100 vehicles and exceeded the national average for “In Warranty Service Retention.” These were the main factors that helped propel Nissan of San Marcos to the success it’s seen today.

“The Vaughan family has implemented the philosophy of always treating the customer better than family,” said David Richerson, general manager. “It’s paid off in just the first year of being under new ownership, and that’s justification for all of the hard work our employees do to ensure the best customer experience.”

The award from Nissan gives Nissan of San Marcos the distinguished honor of being one of the best customer service dealerships not just locally but on a national level. The reward also recognizes employees for demonstrating the characteristics that the Nissan brand represents by delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction, sales and loyalty.
