St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery Offers Diverse Activities for Artists and Art Enthusiasts in April
Rutherford, CA (PRWEB) March 05, 2014 -- St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery is hosting three unique events with California artists Timothy Horn and Suong Yangchareon as part of Visit Napa Valley and Arts Council Napa Valley’s “Arts in April” program. Arts in April builds awareness of the Napa Valley’s cultural richness through a focus on the arts found at wineries, a matter of great passion for St. Supéry founder Robert Skalli who believes that fine art is the perfect marriage with great wines.
St. Supéry partnered with Bay Area artist, Timothy Horn, to offer a plein air painting workshop from March 31 through April 4, 2014. Horn, an award-winning artist, is known for his plein air works, often featuring Airstream trailers, vintage trucks and rustic buildings.
Horn’s workshop is ideal for intermediate oil, acrylic and watercolor painters. Painting locations include private vineyard properties throughout Napa Valley, including St. Supéry’s 1,500 acre Dollarhide Estate Vineyard. The workshop begins March 31st with a half-day lecture, followed by a kick off dinner at St. Supéry. Tuesday, April 1st and Wednesday, April 2nd will be spent at Dollarhide Estate Vineyard in the northeastern hills of Napa Valley. Students will spend Thursday and Friday morning at additional locations in Napa Valley and will conclude their experience with a special wine reception and showing at St. Supéry. Workshop packages start at $1,600 single / $2,400 double including hotel accommodations.
In addition to the plein air workshop, Horn will host a painting demonstration and lecture at St. Supéry on Saturday, April 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. Guests are welcome to attend this complimentary experience and enjoy a wine reception and a viewing of Horn’s work, on display exclusively through the month of April.
St. Supéry Estate’s art gallery is part of the winery’s daily guest experience in Rutherford. The gallery features fine art shows throughout the year arranged by the Paul Thiebaud Gallery based in San Francisco. The gallery currently features an exhibition of paintings by Los Angeles artist Suong Yangchareon. Yangchareon’s work focuses on the urban landscape, especially that of Los Angeles, with a special interest in vanishing movie theaters. The winery invites guests to join Yangchareon on Sunday April 6, from 1 to 4 p.m. for a wine education tasting complemented by gallery tours and an artist reception. The price is $35/person.
