Announcement: BluesGuitar.com Releases “John Mayall & The Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton - Steppin' Out Guitar Riff - Blues Guitar Lesson”
(PRWEB) March 05, 2014 -- A “riff” is the catchy part of a song that sticks in your head. One of the most recognizable guitar riffs of all time is “Smoke on the water” by Deep Purple.
Jon continues this series of Eric Clapton licks from when he played with The Blues Breakers. “This is a great album, you should check it out if you don’t have it,” says MacLennan, “one of the things that’s so hard about this is trying to get the bending right”. Jon demonstrates the lick as follows; slide from the 3rd fret to the 5th fret on the 4th string with 3rd finger and then to the 3rd fret, 3rd string with first finger and do a slight bend and then back to the previous note and repeat the sequence twice. Next he plays the 5th fret of the 3rd string with 3rd finger and back to the 3rd fret and then back to the 5th fret and bend up one half step and release back to the 5th fret and then back to the 3rd fret. Jon then follows that by descending down the scale to the notes it all started on. Finally he finishes off with 3rd fret of the 5th string with 3rd finger to 3rd fret 4th string and back to the 5th string and then back to the 4th string again 3rd fret to the 5th fret. Guitar TAB’s are available for this blues lesson at BluesGuitar.com.”
