Car manufacturing has changed significantly in the United States over the last twenty years. With tougher laws on emissions, the use of computer technology, and creation of hybrid vehicles, car manufacturing has had to change with the times in order to remain relevant.

The "Leading Edge" show with host Jimmy Johnson explores the changes in the car manufacturing industry in the United States. With the recession hitting in 2007, fewer new cars were being purchased in the United States. Americans love their cars for fun, work and business. As the economy continues to improve, the demand for new cars will continue to grow.

Distributed to Public Television stations throughout the United States, the "Leading Edge" edge series is not distributed through PBS.
