Boston, MA (PRWEB) March 07, 2014

SATA Airlines is expanding service from Boston to Portugal in 2014 to offer daily flights. Beginning in April until September, SATA Airlines will offer a weekly Friday non-stop direct flight from Boston Logan Airport to Lisbon. In June, the airline will also offer weekly direct flights from Boston (on Wednesdays) to Terceira Island. For the first time, there will be daily service to the Azores.

Starting from June until September, SATA Airlines will expand its weekly service to the Azores to a seven-times-a-week flight from Boston Logan Airport to Ponta Delgada continuing on to Lisbon on Sundays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

SATA Airlines will fly weekly Wednesday flight to Porto stop at Ponta Delgada from July to September.

SATA will also offer, starting in June, a weekly flight from Boston to Ponta Delgada on Thursdays. And, an extra flight on Mondays to Ponta Delgada will be added to fly from July until August.

SATA is the only airline offering non-stop service to the Azores from North America. The flight from Boston to Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, (the largest island in Azores) is just four hours on one of SATA’s fleet of Airbus A310s. Lisbon is just five and a half hours away non-stop, while Porto is two hours from the Azores.

Packages are available to São Miguel Island for $1079 (Talisman Hotel) and to Lisbon for $1409 (Hotel Mundial). All offers include hotel for 6 nights, daily breakfast, flights, taxes and fees.

Azores is an archipelago of nine islands located in the Atlantic Ocean about midway between Boston and mainland Portugal. The closest point to Europe from the United States, the Azores is an autonomous region of Portugal, and just four hours by plane from Boston. The islands are becoming increasingly well-known for eco-tourism, golf, and unique European cuisine.

Lisbon is about the size of Boston and is perched on the northern bank of the Tejo River, where the river meets the Atlantic. Built on seven hills it is the warmest and westernmost capital in Europe. Porto is located in the North of Portugal and has just been elected as The Best European Destination for 2014.

Besides the connecting flights to Lisbon, Madeira and Porto from the Azores, SATA offers inter-island flights to each of the islands in the Azores as well. SATA has connected North America with the Azores and mainland Portugal for more than 37 years. For more information and reservations, contact SATA at 800-762-9995 or visit http://www.sata.pt.
