Afton Chemical presents at ICIS World Base Oils & Lubricants Conference in London
Bracknell, England (PRWEB) March 07, 2014 -- Afton Chemical presented at the 18th ICIS World Base Oils & Lubricants Conference, which took place from 19-21 February 2014 in London.
Jon Pilbeam, Senior R&D Engineering Specialist, discussed the impact of LSPI (Low speed pre-ignition) on lubricants, which is a major concern of the automotive OEMs. LSPI occurs in the new breed of modern downsized gasoline engines. It is an unintended type of combustion which can lead to engine failure in severe cases. The occurrence of LSPI depends upon the engine combustion conditions, the fuel composition and the engine lubricant formulation.
