Afton Chemical Presents at ELGI in Croatia
Bracknell, England (PRWEB) March 07, 2014 -- The European Lubricating Grease Institute (ELGI) will hold their 2014 Annual General Meeting in Dubrovnik, Croatia on April 26-29th, 2014. The theme of this year’s technical program will focus on greases designed for excellent performance under high temperature conditions. This will include presentations and discussions related to grease components such as base oils and additives that enhance high temperature stability of greases and testing which evaluate those grease for suitability of use at higher temperatures.
Joe Kaperick, Industrial Advisor at Afton Chemical will discuss a study which was undertaken to investigate different aspects of a grease formulation and correlate them to the ability of that grease to protect bearings under operation at high temperature. Some of these aspects include structural and thermal stability, friction, wear and oxidative stability as measured by a variety of different techniques oil separation, rheology, MTM-SLIM, FTIR and PDSC evaluations. Used greases from FE-9 bearing tests were also studied with some of these tools.
